Roland Martin Gets Suspended For ‘Offensive Remarks’ On Twitter [Good Riddance] + My 2 Cents..

8 Feb

So Timon (Lion King Reference) Roland Martin has finally been shown the door… well not exactly but he has been given a slap on the wrist and sent home. The radical CNN Analyst who often steps out of bounds on and off television must have had too much Barefoot Mascoto when his tweeting hands rubbed unsuspecting twatchers the wrong way during the Superbowl this past Sunday.

Apparently a underwear ad featuring soccer star David Beckman got Martin riled up:

“If a dude at your Super Bowl party is hyped about David Beckham’s H&M underwear ad, smack the ish out of him! #superbowl,”

But it didn’t stop there…Keep reading

Martin also threw his daggers at a player for the New England Patriots:

“Who the hell was that New England Patriot they just showed in a head to toe pink suit? Oh, he needs a visit from #teamwhipdatass,”

Roland Martin claims he was referring to soccer fans:

“I know what I said, why I said it, and it’s consistent with me cracking on soccer. Deal with it,”

After public backlash Martin took to his personal website and issued the following statement:

“To those who construed my comment as being anti-gay or homophobic or advancing violence, I’m truly sorry. I can certainly understand how someone could come to a different conclusion than the one I meant. I’m disheartened that my words would embolden prejudice. While public debate over social issues is healthy, no matter which side someone takes, there is no room for debate as to whether we need to be respectful of others.”

Here was CNN’s Statement:

“Roland Martin’s Tweets were regrettable and offensive,” the network said in a statement. “Language that demeans is inconsistent with the values and culture of our organization, and is not tolerated. We have been giving careful consideration to this matter, and Roland will not be appearing on our air for the time being.”

So now that the dust has settled was it in good judgement to suspend Roland Martin and do you think the network will receive further ridicule if they bring him back?

Let me just say that even though Martin represents for the Democratic Party repping for team Obama, I have zero tolerance for his Twitter etiquette. I unfollowed him after he made a mockery out of Teena Marie‘s passing and suggested iTunes plaster her music all over their main page….Like she had just died give her family time to grieve her sudden death.

In closing I really don’t feel bad for him. Whether or not he was joking or simply feeling to much of his wine, people pay attention to the tweets and after a few RT’s the wrong person will scream ‘bullying and homophobe’ and the rest is where we find Roland Martin today.

He’d be perfect for Fox News… They seem to enjoy that type of fuckery.
